Our launch Ambba Valley™ Zoom session was amazing! The turnout was fantastic, and the energy, connection, and honest conversations blew us away, it was everything we hoped for and much more!
One of the most eye-opening moments came when we dove into a topic that really struck a chord: the surprising link between PCOS and lung health.
Yes, you read that right.
We often hear about how polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) affects things like hormones, periods, and fertility.
But did you know it may also impact your lung function?
This was the focus of a groundbreaking study led by Dr. Diana van der Plaat from Imperial College London. She presented her findings at the European Respiratory Society Congress and what she shared was both surprising and empowering.
According to Dr. Diana, women with PCOS may be at higher risk of reduced lung function.
Her research found that around 10% of women with PCOS are more likely to experience shortness of breath, reduced breathing capacity, and even a higher risk of heart disease and early mortality.
Why is this happening?
Researchers looked at the genetic data of over 182,000 women and discovered that some of the same genes linked to PCOS are also associated with lower lung capacity. Since PCOS is also connected to higher rates of diabetes, another condition that impacts lung health, the connection becomes even clearer.
The key takeaway? PCOS is more than a hormonal issue, it’s a full-body condition. And it’s time we start supporting women with PCOS in a more holistic way.
So where does breathwork come in and how can our Ambba™ holistic system help?
One of the most empowering tools we can use to support our lung health, especially if it’s been impacted by PCOS, is breathwork.
Breathwork is more than just deep breathing. It’s a gentle but powerful practice that:
-
- Improves lung capacity and oxygen flow
-
- Strengthens the diaphragm and respiratory muscles
-
- Reduces feelings of shortness of breath or anxiety
-
- Supports heart health by lowering blood pressure and calming the nervous system
And the best part? You don’t need any special equipment, just your breath and a few intentional minutes.
At Ambba Valley™, we’ve woven mindset exercises into every one of our weekly sessions. We always end with a calming mindset practice that helps you feel relaxed, grounded, and connected to your body, in just a few minutes.
It’s amazing how something so simple can make such a powerful impact.
This is what Ambba Valley™ is all about: holistic body and mind exercises, real conversations, science-backed insight, emotional support, and practices that help you feel more in tune with your body; not just surviving, but thriving.
We’re building something beautiful here. And this is just the beginning. Come and join the Ambba Valley™ sisterhood. Click here to learn more and join us.
